Eldritch knight multiclass reddit. It’s considered less powerful because you’re stuck with lower level spells but I think it makes a really nice gish. The level 10 Eldritch Strike lets you impose save disadvantage on your next spell towards a target after you've hit them A small but exploitable thing is that multiclassing has requirements (you need 13 INT to multiclass into a wizard). The question is, from a purely powergaming perspective (if you can Oct 7, 2020 · Even worse, multiclassing into this subclass barely gives you anything worthwhile. Probably the most straight forward and beginner friendly build because it's hard to mess that one up. This edition really did a great job with multiclassing. 8 Eldritch Knight / 4 Thief for four feats and two attacks with each weapon. Eldritch Knight does give you more weapon proficiencies (though a Drow Sorc 2/Swords Bard x gives you proficiency in all the standard finesse melee weapons plus a few ranged options), HP and access to Heavy Armour, though, and perhaps there are other specific spells you want that Bards don't get So currently I am lvl 6 Eldritch Knight with Great Weapon Master and using the greatsword you get from killing the paladins for Karlach. What's a good build/multiclass for Eldritch Knight, assuming you mod the missing cantrips in? Eldritch Knight gives useful utility spells for mobility and defense such as Longstrider, Jump, and Shield More smites than other Fighter subclasses would give, though not by much So, I made an Eldritch Knight and took Eldritch Adept:Warlock at level 4 and grabbed hex. I want to make Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat in this game. Also picking the Fiend for temporary health on a kill or Old One frighten on crit can be nice. From what I'm reading you want to lean EK/Wiz more heavily into caster, while still using War Magic. Without multiclass or the Hexblade, this seemed a good way to go as a fighter. The eldritch knight grows more naturally and meshes together smoother than the multiclass. Weapon Bond: Very cool, but it rarely has any mechanical impact unless you plan to throw your weapon (s) or want to appear unarmed somewhere. Eldritch Knights takes 1/3 your fighter level (rounded down) to determine your casting level, where wizard levels aren't reduced. Late game gear is something like the Nyrulna legendary, Armour of Persistence for more damage reduction, and whatever you want in the off-hand. However, I have a couple A Multiclass also gives up a core ability: The Fighter - and only the Fighter - gets a reliable 3rd and 4th attack per Attack action. Multiclassing is always a challenge to weigh your pro's and con's. I'm thinking of multiclassing into warlock and going pact of the tome so I can get a large variety of things to do at any time. Eldritch knight. I won't be getting much from Inspiration or Song of Rest but plays into the whole heroic revolutionary thing Stick with pure Fighter. More an Eldritch Knight with a spellbook full of low-level utility spells than a slightly-underpowered Wizard with armor and a sword. Something to note is that EKs are 1/3rd spellcasters, but IIRC this is rounded up when calculating the caster level (notice how EK gets their spell slots at levels 4 and 7, instead of 6 and 9 It's rather clunky with Eldritch Knight once you start getting more attacks and it's often better to just take your extra attacks. And you'll have all the fighter goodness. Spells for Eldritch Knight are more for utility rather than damage. Hello all! I've been theorycrafting a War Wizard 2/ Eldritch Knight Fighter X build, but still haven't figured out when to multiclass those 2 levels of War Wizard. Sadly, if you’re only level 6 I’d suggest not going for wizard levels just yet, you really, really, REALLY want to get the Level 7 Eldritch Knight Feature, maybe ask for a small boon or extra feat for your training? After you’re level 7 though, I’d suggest going for either Abjuration or War Wizard, both great subclasses that mesh really well with Eldritch knight. The typical EK dumps INT and uses buffs, utility or spells that don't require attack rolls/saves. Archived post. All in all, this is a generalist build that's able to handle most situations decently to very well. Jul 6, 2023 · Why would I pick up Eldritch knight instead of doing warrior/wizard? You generally sacrifice a bit less in the way of warrior abilities than going heavily multiclass (since you still get all the core class features and health pool), and tend to get a bit more in the way of wizard abilities than just dabbling a tiny bit (like 1 level of wizard). Having played an eldritch knight 1 to 17, I did not and would not multiclass. At level 8 the EK gets 2nd level spells, has the War Magic feature, and gets an ASI before an equal gap in those starts for fighter (next at level 12) compared to wizard (first ASI at level 4). They are considered a one-third caster, so even at level 12, your effective spellcasting level is 4, which equates to 4 tier 1 spell slots and 3 tier 2 spell slots. Fighter 11/Wizard 1: Normal Eldritch Knight but with scroll casting. It seems very possible, his various magical powers and Warhammer/spear that return to him when thrown can all be recreated easily as an Eldritch Knight, and his obsession with conquering and learning more magic can be recreated easily with going a level or two into wizard. The things you get down the line are too good. The best multiclass combo that I've found was Eldritch Knight 7/Bladesinger 13 to combine the SCAGtrips, War Caster, Bladesong, and Tenser's Transformation, but it still nowhere as good as playing a paladin. .
